MBTA: Person struck by train in EG Friday

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WPRI) — Officials say a person was struck by a train in East Greenwich Friday.

According to MBTA transit police, a person was walking on the tracks in East Greenwich just before 5 a.m. The individual was struck by the train and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

At least one train was delayed later in the morning, after shuttle buses transported riders the rest of the way.

No further delays were reported.
