Warwick police investigating after shots fired near hotel

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) – Warwick police are investigating after shots were fired near a hotel on Post Road.

According to police, Airport Police reported hearing shots fired in the vicinity of the Comfort Inn on Post Road around 4:30 Sunday morning.

Warwick police dispatched officers to the scene and found an abandoned vehicle that had been struck by several bullets. No victims were found.

Police later attempted to pull over a vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting, but the vehicle fled. No further information was immediately available.

Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
