PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — The driver of a car that struck a boy on his bike Thursday has been arrested.
Police were called to Rhode Island Avenue around 4:30 p.m. for reports of a pedestrian struck.
According to police, the 13-year-old boy was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and was treated for scrapes, bruises and a broken left leg.
Police said officers arrested the driver, who was identified as James Oliveria, for driving with a suspended license.
Oliveria’s car was damaged in the accident. Police said an investigation is ongoing.
