PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Holiday shopping season has begun and experts say saving money might be easier than ever this year!
Retailers like Macy’s said this week that slower sales during the year led them to have too much inventory, which is good news for shoppers looking for a deal.
When doing your holiday shopping, there are several tips you should keep in mind.
First, don’t ever pay full price.
According to MarketingDive.com, Macy’s CEO expects shoppers to have a “field day” during this holiday shopping season because he says everything leftover must be gone by Christmas. For customers, that means steep discounts. According to experts, other stores will likely follow suit.
Second, make sure to check discount stores.
Analysts told the New York Times that places like Ross Dress For Less and TJ Maxx should be “packed with all that extra inventory from department stores.” For shoppers, it will be a treasure hunt of high-end clothes, purses and shoes.
Third, don’t panic over doorbusters!
According to WalMart, almost any deal found in-store can also be found online.
Many shoppers say they love discounts but hate shopping during the holiday season – so they prefer to make their purchases online.
