Massachusetts lawmakers consider raising smoking age

BOSTON (WPRI) — The state of Massachusetts is considering raising the minimum age to purchase tobacco products.

According to the Standard Times, lawmakers want to make it illegal to sell tobacco product to anyone under the age of 21. That’s similar to several measures adopted by nearly 80 communities int he Bay State already.

Lawmakers said they hope to have a bill in the General Assembly soon.
