KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) — Four McGlynn matched his career high with 27 points and Rhode Island easily handled Rider 82-57 on Sunday.
McGlynn, a senior transfer who played for Towson and Vermont, averaged 11.6 points coming in and matched a figure he’s hit three times previously in his career. Christion Thompson had 11 points and Jared Terrell added 10.
Rider (1-5) was led by Xavier Lundy with 12 points and Kahlil Thomas added 10 points with seven rebounds.
A 7-0 spurt midway through the first half — including 3s by McGlynn and Nicola Akele — pushed the Rams’ advantage to 11 points. Terrell hit a 3 just before the half and Rhode Island led 41-28 at intermission.
Thompson’s 3-pointer at 11:36 of the second half gave the Rams (4-2) a 20-point lead and they cruised to victory.
