2 arrested on drug, weapons charges in Taunton

TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) — Two Massachusetts men were arrested on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop in Taunton over the weekend.

Juhkwon Thomas, 20, of Dorchester, and Reginald Jenkins, 18, of Taunton, are facing numerous charges after police pulled them over on Route 138 in the area of Weir Street.

Police said they discovered a gun, ammunition, brass knuckles and a knife inside the vehicle, as well as heroin and crack cocaine.

An investigation revealed the gun was reported stolen out of Georgia, according to police.

The driver was also issued a summons after being found to be in possession of Suboxone.

Thomas was charged with improper storage of a firearm, carrying a firearm with ammunition, possession of ammunition without an FID card, unlawful possession of a firearm, receiving stolen property over $250, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug law.

Jenkins was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to violate drug law.

Both men were held on $2,500 bail pending their arraignment.
