CORTLAND, N.Y. (AP) — A Rhode Island man has been charged with manslaughter after police say he fatally stabbed a man in an upstate New York bar over the weekend.
Police in Cortland say they were called to the Palm Gardens Bar shortly after midnight Saturday for a report of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they found 31-year-old Terry W. Wormuth II of Cortland in the parking lot suffering from stab wounds to his torso.
He was taken to Cortland Regional Medical Center, where he died.
Police say Wormuth was stabbed during an argument with 58-year-old Mark Dill of Cranston, Rhode Island. He was arrested at the scene and charged with manslaughter.
He’s being held Monday in the Cortland County Jail. It couldn’t be determined if Dill has a lawyer.
Police are still investigating what led to the stabbing.
