PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — As investigators continue to process evidence and put together the pieces of Wednesday’s shooting rampage in San Bernardino, California, people are left wondering what the motive was behind the attack.
Authorities have not ruled out terrorism, some saying it is too soon to determine if the shooter, Syed Farook, was radicalized. He and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, sprayed bullets across a social services building, killing 14 and injuring 21 before being killed during a shootout with police.
Analysts have been highlighting some similarities between the recent attack and the Boston Marathon bombing – including the use of explosive devices and the massive manhunt that left residents locked down inside their homes.
Eyewitness News analyst Lt. Gen. Reginald Centracchio joined us in studio Thursday to weigh in on the new developments in the investigation.
