PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo has ordered all state and U.S. flags at state buildings and facilities to be flown at half-staff in honor of the mass shooting victims in San Bernardino, California.
Raimondo issued the order Thursday after President Barack Obama called for American flags to be lowered in honor of the victims. The Rhode Island order is in effect until sunset on Monday. The governor is also asking all state residents to lower their flags.
Two attackers fatally shot 14 people and injured 21 others at a social service center in San Bernardino on Wednesday. Police later killed the shooters.
