Judge grants motion to stop release of Hernandez juror names

Aaron Hernandez listens during his murder trial at the Bristol County Superior Court in Fall River, Mass. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015.

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — A judge has granted Aaron Hernandez’s motion to stop the release of a document that included the name of one of the jurors who convicted the former NFL star.

Hernandez is fighting for a new trial, claiming the particular juror’s actions were questionable.

According to court documents, the court agreed with Hernandez’s attorney that releasing juror or other witnesses’ names would harm their ability to gather facts.

Hernandez is serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd. He is also set to stand trial soon for a double murder in Boston.
