Providence man arrested after crashing into cruiser

REHOBOTH, Mass. (WPRI) — A Providence man has been arrested after police in Rehoboth said he rammed one of their cruisers.

It happened Sunday night around 6:30 p.m. at a gas station on Route 44.

Officers had boxed-in the car 19-year-old Alex Patterson was driving. It had come back as stolen out of Coventry after police ran the license plates.

Authorities said Patterson tried to flee, hitting one of the cruisers, but he was quickly apprehended.

Patterson is facing several charges and right now is being held on more than $10,000 cash bail.
