RIDOT relocates Exit 21 on I-95 South

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) has temporarily relocated Exit 21 on I-95 South in Providence.

Drivers will now arrive at the Atwells Avenue off-ramp several hundred feet sooner after it was repositioned immediately after Exit 22, which leads downtown and to Routes 6 and 10.

The old Exit 21 off-ramp was demolished over the weekend.

RIDOT says the relocation will be in place for about a year as work continues on the Providence Viaduct Replacement Project.
