CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) — Two Central Falls brothers were arrested Thursday morning on charges of beating and pistol-whipping a man.

Central Falls Police went to find the brothers at a Sylvian Street apartment building during the early morning hours.

Albaro Morales, 39, and his younger brother Angel Morales, 27, are accused of assaulting a man on Tuesday, beating him with fists and with a firearm, causing cuts to his face and forehead — in front of the man’s 7-year-old and 4-year-old children. The man eventually was able to escape and notify police.

The brothers were arrested without incident, processed at Central Falls Police headquarters and arraigned at 6th District Court, police said. They’re charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy.

Bail had been set at $50,000 with surety for this week’s charges, but due to previous felony offenses they were held as Superior Court violators (drug convictions and disorderly conduct for Angel, felony assault for Albaro, according to the Rhode Island Judiciary’s website).

Both are due back in court March 31.
