Drug disposal unit installed at Dartmouth Police HQ

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — People who need to get rid of unused or expired medication can now drop them in a special box at Dartmouth Police Headquarters.

Dartmouth police announced Tuesday that they have installed a drug disposal unit in the station’s lobby.

CVS is providing the units to police stations around the country as part of the Medicine Abuse Project, a five-year initiative by the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids.

The disposal unit will be open 24/7 year-round. People can drop off unwanted drugs with no questions asked.
