PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Restaurant patrons on Providence’s Federal Hill will soon be able to dine once again in the space formerly occupied by Mediterraneo .
Joseph and Esther Dequattro, the owners of Pane e Vino Ristorante & Enoteca, announced Tuesday they are opening “Massimo” in spring 2016.
With the help of restaurant designer Kyla Coburn, the Dequattros said the 200-seat restaurant is being completely renovated and will even offer a space for private events.
“Joe and I created Massimo with the goal of providing our guests with a unique dining experience, where great food and attentive service are fun and accessible,” said Esther DeQuattro.
According to the release, “Massimo will feature inspired and locally sourced small plates and entrees, a seasonally curated cocktail menu, and an international wine list. Many of the wines will be sourced directly from small boutique winemakers across Italy.”
Mediterraneo – which was an upscale restaurant frequented by the likes of Buddy Cianci – closed in November after the owners received an offer to sell the building and two abutting houses.
