Hershey, PA – The puck dropped at 7:05pm on Saturday February 20 at the Giant Center for part one of a double header featuring the Providence Bruins and the Hershey Bears.
The Hershey Bears came out strong in the first period netting a goal courtesy of Sean Collins at the 12:22 mark. The Providence Bruins held their own for the remainder of the period keeping the score 1-0 after twenty minutes.
The Bears strengthened their lead in the second period netting a goal at the 3:19 mark making the score 2-1 thanks to Riley Barber. The Providence Bruins held off the Bears once again through the end of the period entering the third with the score remaining 2-1.
Just twenty seven seconds into the 3rd period Austin Czarink got the P-Bruins on the board by tipping in a long, bouncing slapper from Miller. Hershey answered Cznarnik’s goal with one of their own from Nathan Walker with the assist going to Riley Barber at 4:55. After emptying the net at the 1:27 mark, Brandon DeFazio made the score 3-2 with an assist from Austin Czarnik at the 19:03 mark. With only a minute left to spare, it was not enough for the P-Bruins to force overtime and they fell to the Hershey Bears 3-2.
The Providence Bruins will face off against the Hershey Bears again tomorrow night at the Giant Center at 5:00PM.
