PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Several organizations that help the needy and benefit the arts in Rhode Island received significant gifts Wednesday from the 2015 Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic.
The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter was on hand at the Met School in Providence to announce the recipients of the donations, which included the Met School, St. Mary’s Home for Children and the Music School of the Rhode Island Philharmonic.
The event has raised more than $650,000 over the years to support local nonprofits that facilitate music and art opportunities for children and families. The exact amount of this year’s donations has not yet been disclosed.
“We’re just so grateful to Jeffrey Osborne for giving back to the community and we hope this will continue for many, many years,” said Annette Mozzoni, Director of the Music School of the Rhode Island Philharmonic.
WPRI is a proud sponsor of the Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic.
