SOMERSET, Mass. (WPRI) — Police were on the scene of a fatal crash on I-195 West in Somerset, near the Braga Bridge.

According to Massachusetts State Police, the crash occurred just after 10:15 a.m. Friday between Exits 4B and 4A.

Police said it appeared the driver of an SUV swerved to avoid debris in the right travel lane and rolled over.

The driver has been identified as Philip Imprescia, 55, of Fall River, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The right and middle travel lanes were closed as crews worked to clear the scene, but the left lane remained open.

The crash remains under investigation.

Police said a second, unrelated crash occurred at about 10:20 a.m., also on the westbound side of I-195. One person was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
