Police: 3 Providence men shot on Hymer Street

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Providence police are investigating a triple shooting in the city’s Wanskuck neighborhood early Friday morning.

The three male victims, all Providence residents, were rushed to Rhode Island Hospital after they were shot near 14 Hymer Street, according to an incident report. The shootings occurred shortly before 5:00 a.m. Friday.

One of the victims was shot in the chest and left arm; another was shot in the right shoulder; and the third was shot in the thumb, the report states.

One of the victims told police the group was driving around after leaving a party on Berkshire Street when they stopped in front of the Hymer Street home. One of the men went into or behind the house, but quickly returned having suffered from a gun shot. A victim said a light-skinned male then started shooting into the car.

No arrests have been made.
