Pawtucket DPW dump truck fire ruled arson

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – The Rhode Island Fire Marshal’s Office says arson is the cause of Tuesday’s fire at the Pawtucket Department of Public Works.

A passerby reported the flames on Armistice Blvd. around 2:30 a.m.

Investigators say someone cut a hole into the fence surrounding the lot and used gasoline to set fire to a parked dump truck.

The fire caused between $125,000 and $175,000 in damage.

All tips are anonymous and you can earn a reward of up $5,000 for information that leads to a conviction.
