WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A 39-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday night in what Warwick police said was an act of road rage.
Justin Franca, 20, is accused of hitting the woman with his car then fleeing the scene.
Police said Franca hit the woman after she stepped out of her car on West Shore Road, near a 7-Eleven store. He struck another car as he sped off, according to police.
The woman was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. While her injuries were serious, police said they were not life-threatening.
Franca was arraigned Wednesday and released on $20,000 personal recognizance. He’s due back in court at the end of the month.
