Cranston shooting victim released from hospital

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – A gas station clerk who was shot multiple times has been released from Rhode Island Hospital.

Hospital officials tell Eyewitness News that Abid Shah, 33, was released after spending several days recovering.

Shah was shot six times, in the back, neck, elbow, shoulder, chest, stomach, and hip during an attempted robbery at the Bestway Gas Station on Park Avenue on Monday, February 29.

The husband and father still managed to call 911 and was conscious when police arrived on the scene.

Cranston police are still searching for the suspect.
