General Assembly to debate Narcan bill

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – The General Assembly is debating a new opioid bill.

The legislation would require state healthcare workers to undergo additional training when it comes to risks associated with prescription pain medications.

The bill requires five hours of training every 2 years.

Physicians would also be required to complete training to obtain a waiver to prescribe painkillers.
