PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A man accused of killing a woman and injuring two others last September in Providence faced a judge Tuesday.
David Allison pleaded not guilty to murder and burglary charges handed up in a grand jury indictment in December. The judge ordered he continue being held without bail at the Eleanor Slater Hospital in Cranston.
Allison is accused of killing 24-year-old Elba Feliciano during an altercation at her Commodore Street apartment. Feliciano’s sister and another woman were also stabbed and survived their injuries.
Police said an off-duty sheriff’s deputy stopped the suspect and held him at gunpoint.
The survivors of the attack were in court for Allison’s arraignment, according to our news partners at the Providence Journal.
Allison is due back in court next month.
