SEEKONK, Mass (WPRI) – A law enforcement team conducted an investigation to crack down on prostitution.
The team was comprised of Seekonk Police Officers and Detectives, Department of Homeland Security Agents, Swansea Police Detectives, Somerset Police Detectives, Mattapoisett Police Detectives, Marion Police Detectives and Fairhaven Police Detectives.
Investigators used social media to post ads offering sex for a fee.
Eleven men responded to the ads, but instead of being met by their intended partner, they were met by detectives and arrested.
Ten of the men, two from Massachusetts, six from Rhode Island, one from Florida, and one from New Jersey, were charged with Engaging in Sexual Conduct for a Fee.
Another man from Rhode Island was also arrested and charged with Possession to Marijuana.
The men are set to be arraigned in Taunton District Court on March 24th.
