Police arrest woman suspected of robbing Providence bank

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence police have arrested a woman in connection with a robbery at a city bank last week.

According to police, Nekita Morandi, age 29, was taken into custody after an investigation determined she was responsible for a robbery at the Citizens Bank located inside Stop and Shop on West River Street on Saturday around 1:30 p.m.

Police said Morandi, of Providence, approached a teller with a note demanding money. After she received the money, Morandi left the location in what appeared to be a 2000 Toyota Camry.

Morandi was taken into custody Tuesday and arraigned in Sixth District Court on Wednesday on one count of first-degree robbery.
