Providence hit and run becomes violent

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – A hit and run accident that ended with a man getting hit by a shovel handle was reported to police on early Saturday morning on Chalkstone Avenue.

According to an incident report,, Zachary Robinson was sitting in his car with two friends, Seth Micheal Perry and Nathan Miranda, when a black Honda backed into the front passenger side of Robinson’s car.

That car then fled the scene upon Robinson exiting his car to speak to the driver.

Police say that at this point, Robinson reentered this car and followed the black Honda to the end of the street.

Upon pulling up to the car, two passengers from the Honda exited their vehicle and approached Robinson’s car.

One of the male passengers, described as light skinned, 5’7″ and 180-190 lbs, that had exited the Honda, proceeded to strike Miranda across the right arm and stomach with a shovel handle that eventually broke, police say.

At that point, the men returned to the car and fled the scene once more.

No arrests have been made at this time.
