TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) — A man accused of a deadly shooting in Taunton faced a judge on several charges Monday.

Miguel Marrero was ordered held without bail following his arraignment Monday morning in Taunton District Court.

Marrero was arrested Friday in Roxbury by members of the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section. Boston police officers also assisted.

The 20-year-old is charged with shooting 23-year-old Gordon Weekes outside a Fifth Avenue home Thursday.

Police said Weekes was taken to Morton Hospital by a friend, but died a short time later.

Marrero is facing charges for murder and carrying an illegal firearm.
