Cyber attack postpones PARCC testing at Warwick schools

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Warwick school officials said a cyber attack has led them to postpone a standardized test for the second straight day in two city high schools.

In an email and robocall to parents, the school department said the cyber attack targeted the computer networks at both Pilgrim and Toll Gate High Schools.

That led officials to postpone the scheduled PARCC testing on Tuesday.

“Our Technology Department has been working all day long to identify and mitigate these attacks, but they have proven difficult to eradicate,” the email from Warwick Public Schools read.

The testing will be postponed again Wednesday, so the schools can work to secure their network, and stop further attacks.
