Q&A: ISIS recruiting new members online

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Eyewitness News Analyst Lt. Gen. Reginald Centracchio joined us in studio Wednesday to discuss the latest out of Belgium as ISIS continues to recruit lone wolves to attack other targets.

In the past several weeks, there’s been an increase in attracting people to join the group, according to the general.

Centracchio also says the latest threats against Russian President Vladimir Putin and the New Jersey Transit police are related. He believes adding U.S. troops along the borders in Europe could involve local guardsmen down the road.

Reginald Centracchio (ret.) served as Adjutant General of Rhode Island and Commanding General of the Rhode Island National Guard from 1995 until his retirement in 2005. During his tenure, he served as Director of the Rhode Island Emergency Managment Agency and as Rhode Island Homeland Security Advisor – becoming the first Adjutant General to hold all three positions simultaneously.
