CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A vigil in honor of a local murder victim will be held Friday night to make the one year anniversary of her death.

Friends and family of Briana Giorgio are holding the vigil at Webster Avenue Elementary School in Providence at 6 p.m.

Giorgio, 21, of Cranston, was shot and killed as she sat in her car on Sterling Avenue near the school during what police say was an arranged drug deal.

The shooter, Derell Johnson, admitted to the murder and will spend the rest of his life in prison.
