Stop&Shop recalls Pictsweet steamable veggies for possible listeria contamination

QUINCY, Mass. (WPRI) — Stop & Shop supermarket announced Monday it has removed certain Pictsweet Steamable items from sale due to possible listeria contamination.

The following product is included in this recall:

  • Pictsweet Steamables Seasoned Summer Vegetables, 10 oz., UPC 7056098001 with a best by date of 03/28/2018

To date, the supermarket has received no reports of illnesses.

Consuming foods that are contaminated with listeria can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease. Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea.

Consumers who have purchased this product should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Stop & Shop for a full refund.
