SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) – Republican president hopeful John Kasich will be visiting Rhode Island just three days ahead of the April 26 primary, his campaign announced Sunday.
The Ohio governor will be in Rhode Island next Saturday, April 23, for a town hall event at Bryant University.
The event is set to begin at 11 a.m. at the George E. Bello Center for Information and Technology.

Rhode Island politicians who have already endorsed Kasich include former Gov. Lincoln Almond, former Lt. Gov. Bernard Jackvony, former state Sen. Dawson Hodgson, and Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian.
Kasich is facing Donald Trump and Ted Cruz in the GOP primary. He is the first presidential candidate to announce plans to hold a public event in Rhode Island ahead of the primary.
