Friends, family continue search for missing SK woman

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — Family and friends of Alicia Storti, as well as several volunteers, continued their search for her Monday in Exeter.

Approximately 50 people turned out to search for Storti, who was last seen around midnight Thursday night. Her family thought maybe she would be in the area around Arcadia Beach Pond – but as Monday came to a close, there were still no new developments.

According to police, the 21-year-old is 5-foot-2 and weighs about 102 pounds. She is described as having straight brown shoulder-length hair, brown eyes and fair skin.

At this time, there is no clothing description available.

South Kingstown police said they are working closely with Storti’s family and are following any leads that develop.

Meanwhile, authorities are making sure volunteers remain safe while searching.

“The area that we’re talking about here is pretty vast and the trail system is very intricate,” said Exeter Emergency Management Director Stefan Coutoulakis. “And this is why we have assets like the State Police task force team that specialize in search and rescue efforts. It’s not to say that there isn’t a place for volunteers to show up and put in those efforts. But we need to know who they are and more importantly where they are going.”

A Facebook page has been set up to offer updates on the search.

Anyone with information about Storti’s whereabouts should contact South Kingstown police immediately at (401) 783-3321.
