Crews knock down fire at Central Falls home

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) — Fifteen people were displaced Thursday after a fire broke out on the porch of a home in Central Falls.

The fire broke out after 6 p.m. on the third floor of a home on New Haven Street.

Fire officials said 15 people were displaced.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire and a lot of flames – but officials said it was quickly knocked down and did not spread to any other homes.

Eyewitness News was told the home was damaged by water, but it is not a total loss.

Several other municipalities responded to assist in fighting the flames.

No injuries were reported.
