Clinton, Kasich make stops in the Ocean State Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton will appear at Central Falls High School for her Rhode Island campaign event on Saturday.

Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. for the 4:30 p.m. rally, described by the campaign as a “public organizing event” where “she will discuss her plans to raise incomes for families and break down the barriers that hold Rhode Islanders back.” Those who want to attend can RSVP online.

Senator Jack Reed and Governor Gina Raimondo plan on attending the event.

Meanwhile, Republican presidential candidate John Kasich held a town hall event at Bryant University Saturday morning.

Rhode Island politicians who have endorsed Kasich include former gubernatorial candidate Ken Block, former Gov. Lincoln Almond, former Lt. Gov. Bernard Jackvony, former state Sen. Dawson Hodgson, and Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian.

Also, Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders will visit the Ocean State on Sunday. The Vermont senator will hold a “Future to Believe in Providence Rally” at noon at Roger Williams Park’s Temple to Music.

Doors will open at 9 a.m. for the Sanders event. The campaign said RSVPs are “strongly encouraged” and asked voters who wish to attend to RSVP online. Admission will be first come, first served, and security precautions will be in place.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Senator Ted Cruz is speaking at Gateway High School in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and Donald Trump is speaking in Waterbury, Connecticut.
