Bill Clinton to campaign in RI again on Monday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign announced late Saturday that former President Bill Clinton will return to Rhode Island on Monday to campaign for his wife.

President Clinton will be back in the Ocean State just one day before Rhode Islanders go to the polls on Tuesday. Additional details about the timing and location of his visit were not immediately available.

“At a Get Out the Vote event, President Clinton will discuss why Hillary Clinton is the best candidate to raise wages and break down all the barriers holding families back,” the campaign said in a statement.

The former president was already in Rhode Island earlier this month, where he campaigned for Hillary at a rally in Warwick, then headed to Tommy’s Pizza in Cranston for lunch with Gov. Gina Raimondo and other local politicians.

Hillary Clinton is facing a tough challenge in Tuesday’s primary from rival Bernie Sanders, who will visit the state on Sunday for his own campaign rally in Providence.
