NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — New Bedford police officers were called to the scene of a break-in late Wednesday night.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the Airport Mini-Storage on Mount Pleasant Street just before midnight for an alarm activation and a break-in in progress.
The owner of the facility said he saw several men running from the scene.
Officers said a fence had been cut and a total of 17 storage units had the locks cut off.
Two officers in the area reported seeing a 2003 Infiniti leaving the cemetery across the street from the facility rather quickly. After pulling the car over, officers located open alcohol containers, a lug wrench and bolt cutters.
The three men inside the car matched the description of the men involved in the break-in, according to police, and they were placed under arrest.
Kodie Lefevre, 19, of Tucker Road in North Dartmouth, as well as two 16-year-old minors, are now facing several charges, including breaking and entering and possession of burglary tools.
Lefevre is also facing a charge of procuring alcohol to minors.
All three suspects are scheduled to be arraigned in New Bedford District Court Thursday.
