PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — An interim president has been chosen for Rhode Island College.
The state Board of Education’s Council on Postsecondary Education voted to appoint Clark Greene to the position after Nancy Carriuolo’s tenure ends late next month.
Carriuolo said in December that she would resign at the end of the school year after faculty, staff, and former staff members complained that she wasn’t focusing enough on school finances, didn’t collaborate with appropriate staff and would fire or penalize people based on rumors.
Carriuolo became the ninth president of the school in July 2008.
The release says Greene has overseen the Rhode Island College Foundation and Alumni Association, government relations and marketing and communications since 2014.
A new president is expected to be hired by September.
