Providence Marathon runners hit the starting line Sunday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Street closures are in place throughout the capital city for the 9th annual running of the Providence Marathon.

The runners hit the starting line at 7 a.m. with over 3,000 people participating in the race.

Several streets have been closed with detours in place, including parts of Gano Street, the Henderson Bridge and other locations around Kennedy Plaza.
