3 arrested during highway stop for possession of loaded handguns, drugs

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Three Massachusetts men were stopped late Saturday night on I-95 South at the Branch Avenue overpass in Providence for several motor vehicle violations.

While approaching the vehicle, police said they smelled marijuana and found the driver had a concealed knife on him. Upon further search, they found a 9 millimeter, SCCY Pistol, a .45 Caliber, Smith & Wesson Pistol, crack cocaine and marijuana.

The men were identified as:

  • 30-year-old Dwayne Williams of Malden, Massachusetts
  • 27-year-old Jason Villalona of Roxbury, Massachusetts
  • 23-year-old Jacorey Sanders of New Bedford, Massachusetts

A criminal history check of the three occupants revealed that all three had numerous felony arrests in the State of Massachusetts, to include firearm charges, Rhode Island State Police said.

All men are facing several gun charges and the intent to deliver crack cocaine. They are currently being held without bail and are due in 6th District Court on Monday.
