WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Police were called to a home in West Warwick for a reported stabbing early Wednesday Morning.
It happened inside a residence at the Greenwich Place Apartments on Dogwood Drive. Police said they received a 911 call at 2:31 a.m. from the victim saying he’d been stabbed in his apartment.
Officials said the 23-year-old man was stabbed twice in the arm and torso and was taken to Kent County Hospital to be treated for his injuries. He is in serious but stable condition.
The suspect, a 27-year-old acquaintance of the man, will be arraigned at Kent County Courthouse Wednesday morning.
Police said the stabbing was not a random act and believe it started as a verbal altercation that escalated.
