REHOBOTH, Mass. (WPRI) — Four months after being badly burned in a house fire in Rehoboth, a former police dispatcher has died.

Allyson Chemelowski, 43, died Wednesday, according to the Rehoboth Police Department. The department made the announcement on their Facebook page.

Chemelowski was seriously injured back in January when a fire broke out at her Salisbury Street home.

She escaped the flames and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in critical condition.

Investigators said the accidental fire was caused by smoking materials and started on the living room sofa.
