Woman faces charges of trespassing after power plant protest

BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (WPRI) —  A local woman was arraigned on charges of trespassing following a protest at the Rhode Island State House last month.

The protest on April 19 was over Governor Gina Raimondo’s support for building a gas-fired power plant in Burrillville.

Lisa Petrie, 50, of Richmond, pleaded not guilty to the charges and was given a one-year filing.

The arrest will be on her record for one year and if she does not trespass again within that time; the blemish will be taken off her record.
