BARRINGTON, R.I. (WPRI) — The CVS Health Charity Classic has added three more world-class golfers to its lineup for this year’s tournament in June, co-hosts Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade announced Thursday.
Competing for the fifth consecutive year will be former LPGA Rookie of the Year Lexi Thompson, who’s currently third in the Rolex Rankings and 10th in the CME Rankings.
Faxon and Andrade said PGA Tour pros Jason Dufner and Louis Oosthuizen will also be returning to the Charity Classic. Oosthuizen, a 13-time PGA Tour winner, is currently ranked 13th in the World Golf Rankings. Dufner is a four-time winner on the PGA Tour who currently ranks 17th in the FedExCup standings and 67th in the world.
The 18th annual event will be held June 26-28 at Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington. Along with Thompson, Oosthuizen, and Dufner, the tournament will feature other top-tier pros such as Branden Grace, Keegan Bradley, Jon Curran, Bryson DeChambeau, Tony Finau and LPGA standout Morgan Pressel.
After winning last year’s tournament, Northeast natives Bradley and Curran will look to defend their title.
Along with the golf tournament, the Charity Classic includes a number of family-friendly events for fans and non-fans alike.
