Pawtucket laundromat robbed at gunpoint

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are searching for a suspect after a Pawtucket laundromat was robbed at gunpoint Thursday afternoon.

Police tell Eyewitness News the man surprised a female employee in the back room of Laundromax and pointed a gun at her.

He then took all the money and fled the Mineral Spring Avenue business.

He is described as:

  • Light skinned black or Hispanic male
  • Early 50s
  • Grey goatee
  • Thin build
  • 5’9″ Tall
  • Wearing a black hooded sweatshirt
  • White basketball shorts
  • Black sneakers
  • Carrying a black string bag with a yellow symbol

The gun is described as a small black revolver with a yellow handle, according to police.

The female clerk was not hurt.
