Police: Suspects swiped woman’s purse at Cranston Whole Foods

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Cranston police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a pair of men who they say stole a woman’s purse which held some valuable contents.

According to a post shared on Facebook Thursday, the suspects took the purse from the Whole Foods on Sockanosset Cross Road.

Police said the men use the victim’s credit card to buy several hundred dollars’ worth of gift cards at the Target in Warwick.

Also inside the purse was a wedding band valued at $11,000, according to police.

Anyone with information about the crime or the suspects is asked to contact Det. Joseph Hopkins at (401) 942-2211. Cranston police can also be contacted through their smartphone app and anonymous tips can be left through Tipsoft.
