PHILADELPHIA, Penn. (WPRI) –The Brown University Men’s lacrosse team’s historic season ended on Saturday with a 15-14 defeat to the top-seeded Maryland Terrapins in overtime. Brown was playing in their first final four since 1994.
In a back and forth affair, Brown scored four unanswered goals in the 4th quarter to tie the game at 14-14 with under two minutes to play.
Maryland came out firing, leading Brown 4-1 in the first period. The Bears would respond with four unanswered goals to take the 5-4 lead.
One of the nation’s best players, Brown’s Dylan Molloy, who missed the Navy game because of a broken foot, rallied to play for the Bears and scored two goals
In the third quarter, Maryland opened up a four-goal lead, making it 12-8.
Saturday afternoon, North Carolina defeated Loyola 18-13. North Carolina will take on Maryland Monday in the National Championship game.
