PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Wednesday marked the beginning of hurricane season and local Emergency Management officials are preparing their resources in case of a storm.
In the video above, Eyewitness News Analyst Lt. General Reginald Centracchio talks about the state’s plan for keeping people safe.
He says technology has changed dramatically since he retired as head of the EMA – and communication between local communities and the state is essential. He also says the pruning of trees has cut down on power outages in the state.
The General also talked about the crisis in Iraq and the battle with ISIS.
Eyewitness News Analyst, Lt. Gen. Reginald Centracchio (ret.) served as Adjutant General of Rhode Island and Commanding General of the Rhode Island National Guard from 1995 until his retirement in 2005. During his tenure, he served as Director of the Rhode Island Emergency Managment Agency and as Rhode Island Homeland Security Advisor – becoming the first Adjutant General to hold all three positions simultaneously.
